The event was a full day event into two parts in the morning two simultaneous workshops form 9h30 to 12pm and from 1pm the official ceremony as chief guest H.E. Henry V Jardine U.S. Ambassador to Mauritius and Seychelles
Morning workshops
Workshop Session 1:
SMEs, women entrepreneurs, educators, and NGOs
Dedicated to empower SMEs, women entrepreneurs, educators, and NGOs by providing valuable insights into digital skills for online classes and businesses. This session focuses on promoting sustainability in a more affordable and environmentally friendly manner, while also educating participants about low-carbon footprint solutions.

- Introduction to Chrome OS, Google technologies for running hybrid classes and work
Workshop Session 2:
Youth Empowerment through Laptop Repair
Dedicated to providing youth and school leavers with an opportunity to discover new skills and pathways through laptop repair workshops. These workshops aim to promote e-waste reduction and circular economy principles, while also educating participants about low-carbon footprint solutions and exploring new job opportunities, all aimed at promoting sustainability.

Afternoon Official Ceremony
The ceremony commenced with the national anthem, followed by a recap of ReUSE Revamp’s achievements and future plans presented by Francois Mark. Chief Guest, H.E. Henry V Jardine, U.S. Ambassador to Mauritius and Seychelles, delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of sustainable leadership.

“In the United States, agencies across our federal government have been working multiple private and public sector stakeholders on a program to “Solve the e-waste Problem.” Our partnership with Francois and the ReUSE Revamp initiative is one sign of the U.S. Embassy’s commitment to working with Mauritian organizations and the Mauritian government to build awareness of the need for environmental preservation and sustainability
and encourage community responsibility and engagement.
Earlier this morning, a group of students and educators attended workshops in this American Maker Space to learn about a number of technological innovations, including how to repair laptops, use AI to advance projects, and integrating Google technologies into the classroom.”

Mrs. Bwalya Mwali, Chairperson/Founder of AfricanTales, highlighted the collaboration between ReUSE Revamp and AfricanTales for the digitization of African stories, leveraging Google ChromeOS-powered laptops.

Most Women and girls in rural area in Kenya, lack basic education and IT- information. This prevent most of contributing towards socio- economy- development. Education and digital empowerment will enable women and girls play key role in economy, and to reduce poverty and suffering . IT – and education will empower and promote vulnerable women and girls , enable them acquire necessary skills to contribute towards advancing circular economy and Waste Reduction in the rural areas. Necessary resources including education seminars and workshops are needed to support the programs of E-waste and Circular economy in the rural areas.”

Announcement: F1 in Schools
Mrs. Frédérique Trouvé-Roger introduced F1 in Schools, an initiative providing opportunities for underprivileged children to engage in Formula 1-related careers. She recognized the dedication of Mr. Ludovic PEZE – Founder and Director of Motors Formula Team, Mrs. Geraldine Secondis, and Mr. Francois Mark in bringing F1 in Schools to Mauritius.
F1 in Schools Mauritius is in the first place the initiative of our partner Ludovic Peze of Mauritian origin who is also the Ambassador for diversity and inclusion of F1 in Schools France. Hence we can realize how the support of our diaspora can open new doors
